A delicious baked fruit dessert with a custard-like batter, perfect for showcasing seasonal fruits.

Ingredients

Dairy and Eggs

  • 4 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 0.25 cup milk (full fat or skim)
  • 100 g sugar (crystal sugar (+ extra for sprinkling))
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (or 1-2 mL essence)
  • 70 g flour (wheat flour)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (refined)

Fruits

  • 1 large pear (large, peeled and sliced)
  • 1 large apple (large, peeled and sliced)
  • 2 pieces plums (pitted and sliced)

Additional

  • to taste none confectioners' sugar (for dusting)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 200-230°C. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Arrange sliced fruits in the dish.
  • In a bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Add sugar, salt, and vanilla, mix well. Add flour and stir just until combined.
  • Pour batter over fruits. Bake for 20-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Use ripe fruits for best flavor. Serve slightly warm for optimal taste.
