Instructions
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease and flour a bundt or round cake pan.
Sift flour and baking powder separately.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
Mix in the flour gradually.
Add orange juice and mix until smooth.
Gently fold in beaten egg whites.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 45-60 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly, then prepare syrup by mixing orange juice and sugar.
Pour syrup over warm cake and let absorb.
Notes
For a more intense orange flavor, add orange zest to the batter.
