Delight in crispy churros filled with creamy doce de leite ice cream, a perfect treat combining crunchy textures and sweet flavors.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 125 g water
  • 15 g sugar (cristal)
  • 1 g salt (refined)
  • 60 g unsalted butter
  • 70 g flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 large egg (about 55g)
  • to taste cinnamon powder (optional, for flavor)
  • for frying vegetable oil
  • for coating refined sugar (for sprinkling)
  • for coating cinnamon powder (for sprinkling)
  • 1 recipe Dulce de leche ice cream

Instructions 

  • Mix water, sugar, salt, and butter in a pan; melt butter and dissolve sugar and salt over medium heat.
  • Add flour all at once; stir continuously until dough forms and is uniform.
  • Transfer dough to a bowl; let cool for 2 minutes.
  • Add egg gradually to dough using a mixer with a paddle until smooth.
  • Pipe dough into star-shaped discs on parchment; freeze for 5 minutes.
  • Heat oil to 180°C; fry discs until golden, pressing center lightly.
  • Drain on paper towels; coat with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Assemble by placing a scoop of ice cream between two churro discs; serve immediately.

Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
