Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups water
  • 120 g flour (all-purpose)
  • 20 g butter (unsalted)
  • 0.2 tsp salt
  • as needed refined sugar and cinnamon (for coating)
  • as needed oil (for frying)
  • as needed sweetened condensed milk (optional, for serving)

Instructions 

  • Bring water, salt, and butter to a boil in a large pan.
  • Add flour all at once, stir quickly until dough forms and pulls away from pan, cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Transfer dough to a piping bag with star tip, let cool slightly.
  • Pipe dough into hot oil and fry until golden, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Drain on paper towels, then coat with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Serve immediately with optional sweetened condensed milk.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to achieve crispy churros.
