A flavorful spicy tomato sauce perfect for pasta or as a condiment. Made with fresh ingredients and a touch of heat.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced or processed into a paste)
  • 1 small onion (diced finely)
  • 8 pieces ripe tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon pimenta dedo de moça (chopped, seeds removed if less spicy)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt refined salt
  • ½ teaspoon sugar (optional, if needed)

Instructions 

  • Chop the onion and mince or process the garlic into a paste. Set aside.
  • Slice the pimenta dedo de moça lengthwise, remove seeds if less spicy, and chop into small cubes. Set aside.

Notes

Adjust the spiciness by keeping or removing the seeds from the chili.
